The National League of Junior Cotillions, Cumberland Chapter sponsored "Crayons from Cotillion" as part of National Courtesy, Character and Citizenship Month. Junior Cotillion students donated boxes of crayons to Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation’s Friends of Children. The crayons were presented to Sabrina Brooks, Friends Group Coordinator by the students and Cotillion director Betsy Abbott.

 


NFI Consumer Products and Blue Emu presented a donation to Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation’s Friends of the Cancer Centers for the 2011 Ribbon Walk & Ride. Accepting the donation is Joel Schur, a member of the Friends of the Cancer Center Advisory Board. The staff of Sew and Sews Place held the fundraiser “Bra’s for the Brave” which raised $1,428 for Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation’s Friends of the Cancer Center for the 2011 Ribbon Walk & Ride. Members of the Fayetteville Regional Association of Realtors donated teddy bears and other stuffed animals to Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation’s Friends of Children. During the holiday season, the Dairy Queen on Camden Road sponsored an Angel Tree to benefit Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation's Friends of Children. Pink and blue elephants adorned a tree in their store and customers were encouraged to take one and return it with a new gift to be given to a hospitalized child at Cape Fear Valley. Two large boxes of toys were collected and given to the children just before Christmas. Pictured are employees Kacie, Tammy and William with some of the donations.

 


Handcrafted toy trucks and trains, pillows and fabric covered water bottles were delivered to Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation's Friends of Children. Kevin Miller coordinated a group of fellow Ft. Laura Bullard recently celebrated her 8th Birthday by requesting her friends bring new books to be given to children hospitalized at Cape Fear Valley.  Laura presented the books to Veronica Coleman, Development Manager for Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation.  The books will be distributed by Friends of Children.  Laura is the daughter of Karen and Mark Bullard of Fayetteville.
