At Cape Fear Valley Health, our residents get unparalleled clinical and operative experience with a large and diverse patient population. Annually, we treat approximately 1,000,000 patients and perform 24,000 surgeries. Our comprehensive training program incorporates a breadth of general surgery and subspecialties, including trauma/critical care, vascular, colorectal, cardiothoracic, and hepatobiliary.
Cape Fear Valley strives to provide the quality healthcare services our community needs. As the eighth largest health system in North Carolina and the eighth busiest Emergency Department nationally, our physicians are committed to meeting the needs of our rural population as we provide needed and exceptional healthcare for all our patients.
Combined with our sponsoring institution Campbell University, our faculty, staff, and residents share the values of teamwork, leadership, professionalism, integrity, diversity, and the ethical treatment of all humanity.
The Cape Fear Valley General Surgery Residency Program is committed to training residents who will become the next generation of well-trained surgeons, clinically equipped in every way and driven by improving the quality of every life they touch. The program is five years long with three recruits per year.
