The Orthopedic Surgery Residency program provides residents with an environment that promotes learning the art and science of orthopedic surgery. Our faculty are made up of members of orthopedic surgeons that practice at Cape Fear Valley Health and Womack Army Medical Center. Residents have exposure to all subspecialty areas of orthopedics, with subspecialty fellowship-trained faculty members in each area. Our residents and faculty work together as a team to develop the next generation of orthopedic surgeons and provide superior patient care.

Cape Fear Valley Hospital, Fayetteville - Cape Fear Valley Health in Fayetteville, North Carolina, is an award-winning, 8-hospital regional health system, one of the largest in the state is a 950-bed regional health system with more than 1 million inpatient and outpatients annually. A private not-for-profit organization with 7,000 employees and 850 physicians. There are 16 residency and fellowship programs with over 300 approved positions.
Womack Army Medical Center, Fayetteville - WAMC provides healthcare to about 200,000 TRICARE beneficiaries. This includes active duty service men and women, retirees, and their Family members. WAMC is a state-of-the-art medical complex and an integral component of Fort Bragg's military mission.
Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte - the largest hospital in the region and a world-class facility that offers a full range of services to the Charlotte community and beyond, with more than 1,100 physicians and providers specializing in all areas of medicine. CMC serves as the region's only Level 1 trauma center.
Wake Forest Baptist, Greensboro - Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is a pre-eminent academic health system based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, an 885-bed tertiary-care hospital in Winston-Salem – that includes Brenner Children's Hospital, five community hospitals, more than 300 primary and specialty care locations and more than 2,700 physicians.
