The Southern Regional Area Health Education Center Continuing Medical Education Program's mission is to meet the needs of North Carolina physicians and other health care professionals by providing quality continuing medical education activities that will improve their knowledge, competence or performance in providing patient care.
Southern Regional AHEC is a private, non-profit organization that operates a family medicine residency, sponsored by Duke University Medical Center and offers training programs for health care professionals in the region. In partnership with the hospital, we primarily provide Regularly Scheduled Series; we also provide events, Performance Improvement CME and webinars through AHEConnect. We are currently developing an online learning platform for Cape Fear Valley Physicians that will expand CME offerings. We have a CME advisory committee in conjunction with hospital faculty and encourage your feedback and participating in designing and offering CME.
Southern Regional AHEC is accredited by the North Carolina Medical Society to provide continuing medical education for physicians. All courses are accredited for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
